Music Saves My Soul Saturday....

Just a quick post today- I haven't made any cards this week sadly as I've been manic with other things including dealing with a 4 year old with an ear infection (not fun).

I chose this song not because I like it but because its my little boys favorite song- he calls it the money song and I've put it on my phone for him so he's constantly asking to listen to it! I do like it but its been fast losing appeal recently!

Music Saves My Soul Sunday

I'm a day late!

Haven't had any time to craft this week as I've had other stuff to deal with which has left me pooped but am hoping to get some time in the next few days as my fingers are starting to get itchy (either means I miss crafting or I have dermatitis lmao)

This is my choice for this weeks MSMSS:

My favorite Amy Winehouse song- she was such a talented lady and its a tragedy that she left us when she did, I think she had so much more to give. We have lost so many wonderful talents over the past few years and Amy was definitely one of them.

Enjoy

Music Saves My Soul Saturday....

Woah how can it be Saturday already- this week has just flown!

No card today (been busy doing the dreaded housework and dealing with a problem friend) but I had 5 minutes to post a song..... WARNING: explicit lyrics (just letting ya know)

I know I know- from rock to rap- nobody can't say I don't have a wide taste in music!!

This is an oldie but a goodie- the video was shot on the estate I used to live on. I may live in Hertfordshire now but I'm a Hackney gal born & bred. Those of you who know me personally will know I moved here 3 years ago with my son to get away from an abusive relationship. To say that relocating was hard would be an understatement- I missed (and still do miss) my friends and moving from an inner London borough to a semi rural town was a real culture shock. I was used to being able to go out & get cigarettes at midnight if I wanted to, dirty kebabs at 2am etc etc- you're lucky if you can find a shop open past 10pm round here. Still, life changes and I have my gorgeous boy and a roof over our heads- I can't really complain can I.

For those of you who choose to watch the video- enjoy :)

Thanks for reading

Mother's Day is upon us.....

And I've had my first EVER commission for a Mother's Day card :D.

I don't sell my cards to be honest- I don't really think they're good enough. I used to sell them years ago but then life changed, situations changed and my general confidence took a nose dive. Maybe this is the start of it coming back again?

I showed the card I made a few posts down (the 'I want to wear pink' one) to my neighbor to get her opinion and her friend asked if I would make a card for her mum- my instructions were to use a photo (that I had to nick off her Facebook) and that she wanted it fairly simple. As the photo was black & white I thought to keep it simple I would go with black, white & silver. The first pic I printed (onto normal card) was pretty grainy but I was able to use a damaged 8x8 card to put a mock up together which I then showed her- she was so happy I thought she was gonna pick me up and swing me round LOL.

After I explained that the card she was holding was only a rough version I came home and made the proper one and this is the result:

I really must pick up a new camera soon as using my phone is driving me nuts!

Right, need to take little one off to nursery - woohooo peace & quiet :)

Catch ya later peeps

Ooooooo I won an award!!!

No card as yet today but I had to share that I won a top 3 award at Oldie but a Goodie (does little happy dance of joy). I'm one of those people who can't win an argument so this has left me well chuffed!

Sorry, just had to share lol, will be back later with a card :)

Sometimes a gal just needs a drink!

Morning everyone :)
Another miserable looking day today and I've woken up feeling all bunged up- lovely! Dontcha just love having to go out in public with the snots?

I made another card last night- I had a little chat with myself and said if I'm gonna spend money on my hobby I need to actually make things with the product I buy as opposed to just letting it all sit in the corner of my bedroom! I can't promise that I will post new cards every day but I am certainly gonna try and take part in more challenges from hereonin.

Anyway, onto the card I made
This lady is me on an almost daily basis LMAO. Seriously though- what mother doesn't feel like that on occasion? My little boy is 4 and much as I adore him he drives me crackers sometimes and I really do feel like turning to drink!

The image is from Mo Manning and its called 'Lizzy in a tizzy'- can you tell I just LOVE her images? She does both the cute and the humorous just perfectly- I am slowly collecting her images LOL.
Backing paper was a MME stack that came free with a magazine (see I'm soooo good finally using my freebies!) and the backing card is Core'dinations. I colored Lizzy with Speccies, cut the borders with my Borderabilities (first time I've used them and I'm now converted) and used some pink gems to finish it off- I don't know why the gems look skew whiff cos they don't look like that in real life???

I'm entering the card into the following challenges:

Bronte & Bella's Challenge- Anything goes as long as you use a Mo Manning image
Creative Card Crew - The theme is humor
Stamp With Fun - Use pink & green

Need to brave myself to go outside into the miserable weather- maybe I should have a vodka to prepare myself???? (Kidding- wayyyyyy too early for me!)

See ya peeps :)

Its an oldie......

Afternoon everyone,

Cor its blimmin cold today- gorgeous blue skies but proper nippy wind!

I've made a card this afternoon for Oldie but a goodie challenge- you have to use something that it at least 6 months old and I'm thinking maybe it'll help me use some of the (many many many) unused stamps I have at home- I seriously think I have an obsession!

Anyway the challenge is red and white and also to use ribbon:

I must confess I'm a bit 'meh' about this card but I figured hey what the heck- I'll go with it, it may grow on me!

The stamp was a freebie from a magazine sometime last year and has been colored with speccies, the paper is a Pink Petticoat download and the card is Core'dinations. I used a bit of red grosgrain ribbon (nicked off a choccie box methinks lol) and colored some white Card Candi to match the red, although I'm now debating pulling it off and putting white Candi on instead???

Ah well, I may post a change later!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday....

Evening All :)

Well having jut popped over to Marcea's blog and seeing that its Jon Bon Jovi's birthday today, how could I resist posting a video of one of my favorite ever Bon Jovi Songs?

I've been a fan since I was about 13 and still break out the CD's on a regular basis- perfect when you want a noisy singalong whilst cleaning!

I won tickets to see them on their last night at the O2 a couple of years ago- dropped my son off at his auntie & uncles, my brother in law was taking me to the train station when I got a phone call- my son had taken a flying leap off the climbing frame and landed head first so I spent the night in a&e instead- gutted!

Happy Birthday Jon :)

Daisy & friends

Afternoon all, another card done today, I'm on a roll!

I made this card using the Daisy & Friends CD Rom by Joanna Sheen- isn't she a cutie? The backing paper is from the CD too and I just went round the edges with some lilac ink using my blending tool. A Marianne flourish, Little Claire sentiment, few gems and some ribbon finished it off nicely :)

I am entering this into the Joanna Sheen Challenge which is 'Spring is in the air'- I think it looks pretty 'springy' (wish I could say the same about myself lol).

Boys can wear pink can't they?

Woowweee I have actually made a card instead of just fart arsing about playing with stamps and paper!

This is for my best friend for her birthday from my son who has a bit of a thing about pink (hence the sentiment hehe). I know she will burst out laughing when she opens the envelope :)

Apologies for the rubbish pic- my camera has decided to die a death and my phone doesn't have the greatest camera unfortunately!

I am entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge where you have to follow a sketch- its the first challenge I've entered in such a long time!

The image is from Mo Manning and he's called Toby- he really looks like my son when he's having one of his diva moments lol. I colored him with my Spectrum Noirs. The backing paper was a freebie from a magazine- so nice and bright, the backing card is Core'dinations and I mounted the whole lot on a card I made from an A3 sheet of Centura Pearl.

Anyway, hope you like!
