Its an oldie......

Afternoon everyone,

Cor its blimmin cold today- gorgeous blue skies but proper nippy wind!

I've made a card this afternoon for Oldie but a goodie challenge- you have to use something that it at least 6 months old and I'm thinking maybe it'll help me use some of the (many many many) unused stamps I have at home- I seriously think I have an obsession!

Anyway the challenge is red and white and also to use ribbon:

I must confess I'm a bit 'meh' about this card but I figured hey what the heck- I'll go with it, it may grow on me!

The stamp was a freebie from a magazine sometime last year and has been colored with speccies, the paper is a Pink Petticoat download and the card is Core'dinations. I used a bit of red grosgrain ribbon (nicked off a choccie box methinks lol) and colored some white Card Candi to match the red, although I'm now debating pulling it off and putting white Candi on instead???

Ah well, I may post a change later!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday....

Evening All :)

Well having jut popped over to Marcea's blog and seeing that its Jon Bon Jovi's birthday today, how could I resist posting a video of one of my favorite ever Bon Jovi Songs?

I've been a fan since I was about 13 and still break out the CD's on a regular basis- perfect when you want a noisy singalong whilst cleaning!

I won tickets to see them on their last night at the O2 a couple of years ago- dropped my son off at his auntie & uncles, my brother in law was taking me to the train station when I got a phone call- my son had taken a flying leap off the climbing frame and landed head first so I spent the night in a&e instead- gutted!

Happy Birthday Jon :)

Daisy & friends

Afternoon all, another card done today, I'm on a roll!

I made this card using the Daisy & Friends CD Rom by Joanna Sheen- isn't she a cutie? The backing paper is from the CD too and I just went round the edges with some lilac ink using my blending tool. A Marianne flourish, Little Claire sentiment, few gems and some ribbon finished it off nicely :)

I am entering this into the Joanna Sheen Challenge which is 'Spring is in the air'- I think it looks pretty 'springy' (wish I could say the same about myself lol).

Laters taters ;-)

Boys can wear pink can't they?

Woowweee I have actually made a card instead of just fart arsing about playing with stamps and paper!

This is for my best friend for her birthday from my son who has a bit of a thing about pink (hence the sentiment hehe). I know she will burst out laughing when she opens the envelope :)

Apologies for the rubbish pic- my camera has decided to die a death and my phone doesn't have the greatest camera unfortunately!

I am entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge where you have to follow a sketch- its the first challenge I've entered in such a long time!

The image is from Mo Manning and he's called Toby- he really looks like my son when he's having one of his diva moments lol. I colored him with my Spectrum Noirs. The backing paper was a freebie from a magazine- so nice and bright, the backing card is Core'dinations and I mounted the whole lot on a card I made from an A3 sheet of Centura Pearl.

Anyway, hope you like!

Me to you Christmas :)

Here are a couple of cards I made today using a Me to You bumper pack I bought from my local craft shop- it was about £12 and there is so much in there so very good value for money.

My mojo has returned (sort of!)

I have had absolutely no motivation for cardmaking recently as I've been suffering a lot of pain with my gallstones and am STILL waiting on an appointment with the surgeon grrrrr.

Anyway I woke up this morning and really had the urge to create so here are the cards I made: The first one is using a Dreamweaver stencil, embossing paste and lots of sparkle, the second I made using the new Craftwork Cards collection which is totally lush and the last 2 are made using Marrianne D dies- I can't decide which one I like best lol.
Hope you like :)

Music Saves My Soul Saturday :)

Well yet again I haven't posted for a bit! I've made lots of cards, unfortunately my camera is suffering from PMT and doesn't want to behave at the moment so I can't take any pics :(

I'm really disappointed as I ordered some Kanban kits when they were on QVC 3x easy pay and free p&p- 7 to be exact :-o including 2 gorgeous stamp kits and I've made some gorgeous cards with the Christmas set. Plus I am no longer a Humphrey virgin- I officially have my first Humphrey stamp and I LOVE it! Its soooo easy to color and is so sweet- will definitely be ordering some more .

Anyway, music saves my soul Saturday- I have very eclectic tastes in music- from rock to reggae to cheesy 70s/80s pop to grime- I'm sure you get the picture!

I am a rock chick at heart though so in future weeks you will probably see lots of rock postings on a Saturday, but not today.

I have chosen Thank You by Jamelia as it is one song where I listen to the words and they actually apply to me. For those who don't know me I was in a relationship that was very abusive & in January 2009 I finally had the courage to take our baby son and go into a refuge. That was the start of the rest of my life- we settled in a new area, made new friends, I got a job and my little boy went to nursery- 2 1/2 years later I am positive it was the best decision I ever made, for myself and my son. Jamelia says exactly what I would like to say to my ex- I am a stronger person now and its because of him.
Anyway, christ I've written a novel, sorry! On with the song :
